Tuber very small, subglobose, 1-1,5 cm diam., brown-pubescent, rooting from base. Leaves uniformly dark green above, suborbicular, 1-2,5 cm diam., margins entire or subentire, apparently persisting throughout the year. Flowers appearing in spring and early summer; corolla lobes less than 10 mm long , broadly ovate, obtuse or subacute, pale purple or lavender-pink with a dark basal blotch; but without a pallid eye. Style included or very shortly exserted. Fl. 4-6. Alpine pasture by melting snow, Pinus and Picea forests and under Rhododendron caucasicum, 1200-2300 m.
Endemic. Euxine element. Allied to C. coum.
