Corm tunic thinly membranous with fibres parallel at base, weakly reticulate at apex. Leaves 3-5, hysteranthous, 1.5-2.5 mm broad. Prophyll present. Bracteole absent. Throat of perianth pubescent, white; segments 3.5-6 x 0.7-1.6 cm, acuminate, white, each with 2 yellow spots inside near base, often veined purple. Filaments 0.7-1.2 cm, white, glabrous; anthers 0.9-2.1 cm, creamy-white. Style dividing into 3 short pale yellow branches, each fimbriate or shortly lobed. 2n = 8. Fl. 8-10. Alpine turf and subalpine meadows, 900-2000 m.
