Corm ovoid to subglobose, around 1.0–1.5 cm in diameter. Outer tunics membranous to coriaceous, inner tunics softer, neck short 3.0–4.5 mm long; rings with many conspicuous teeth, teeth 0.50–3.25 mm long. Cataphylls 4 or 5, whitish. Leaves 3–6 , dark green, 1.5–2.2 mm wide with 2–4 ribs in lateral channels depending on leaf width, glabrous to very sparsely ciliate on edges and keel margins; white stripe prominent, ca. 1/3 of leaf width; usually shorter than flowers. Prophyll absent. Bract and bracteole present, membranous, visible, pale brown, not hidden within the cataphylls. Flowers 1–2, pale to deep lilac. Perigone segments 30–39 × 15.5–21.5 mm, obovate to elliptic, apex obtuse to rounded, pale to deep lilac, without veining or striping on the abaxial surface of outer segments. Throat yellow–orange, glabrous. Filaments 6.75–8.25 mm long, yellow, glabrous to sparsely scabrid throughout. Anthers arrow-shaped, 13.25–16.25 mm long, yellow, lobes 2.0–3.6 mm. Connective prominent, well-developed, creamy to white; pollen yellow. Style orange, divided into 3 branches, often expanded and papillose at apex, branches 5.0–9.5 mm long. Style length according to stamen is 93% equal to shorter, 7% longer . Capsules at ground level, purple, oblong, 13–25 × 6–9 mm. Seeds ovoid to globose, 2.6–3.0 × 1.9–2.0 mm , pale brown with prominent and winged raphe and tongue or sac–shaped caruncle. Chromosome number 2n = 2x = 8.
