Rhizomatous. Stems ascending or erect, 25-45 cm, adpressed-pilose, 1-headed, leafy in lower ½ . Leaves 2-3-pinnatisect, 3-6 cm rachis broad, c. 1,5-4 mm wide, primary segments 3-6-paired , 1-2 cm, bearing 4-6 pairs of tooth-like secondary segments 2-5 mm. Capitula radiate only. Involucre 1,5-2 cm; phyllaries dark brown-margined, adpressed-pilose, outer lanceolate, 4-5 mm, inner oblong-elliptic, 5-7 mm, shortly ciliate at apex. Ray flowers 20-35; ligules 1,5-1,75 cm. Disc corollas 4-5 mm. Paleae narrowly lanceolate, acuminate, 5-7 mm . Achenes immature, 2-3 mm; corona 0,5-1 mm. Fl. 7-8. On igneous or limestone slopes and screes, 1600-2600 m.
