Densely mat- to cushion-forming perennial, up to 8 cm, usually glandular-hairy. Stems with persistent dead leaves below and numerous leaf fascicles above. Leaves 4-8 mm, very narrowly linear to linear-oblong, always ± flattened, 3-veined, the lateralveins prominent, separated by part of the lamina from the main vein. Inflorescence 1-5-flowered. Sepals 4-5 mm, ovate-Ianceolate, acuminate. Petals 1 1/2 -2 x longer than sepals. Capsule shorter than calyx.
