Minutely pruinose-papillose glaucous pulvinate perennial. Stems numerous, ± prostrate, densely leafy, seldom exceeding 7 cm, arising from short caudiculi borne on a woody stock. Cauline and ray-leaves oblanceolate to obovate, 5-13 x 2-4 mm, apex obtuse to acutely acuminate, entire, ciliolate. Raylet-leaves obovate-suborbicular, 3-5 x 3-5 mm, obtuse, mucronate, cuneate, sometimes purplish. Pseudo-umbel capitate. Rays 5,5 mm or less, not or once dichotomous; axillary rays absent. Glands purple, short-homed, horns reddish. Fruit ovoid-conical, 3-4 mm diam., glabrous or sparingly pilose. Seeds ellipsoid, 2 mm, smooth, pale grey-brown. Fl. 5-7. Mountain ridges and screes, often on limestone, 1400-2300 m.
Endemic. Ir.-Tur. element. Most closely allied to E. nicaeensis.
