Perennial, 25-45 cm, ± branched, adpressed greyish- or white-tomentose. Middle cauline leaves oblong-lanceolate to elliptic or ovate, acutish, 2-3 x 0.8-1.5 cm, finely crenate-denticulate, lowermost with petiole to 5 mm. Verticillasters 3-8, 6-flowered, 1-5 distant. Middle bracts orbicular-cordate, 0.5-1 x 0.8-1 cm, abruptly acuminate . Calyx 6-7 mm, teeth 1.5-2 mm, tube glabrescent or glandular. Corolla purple-violet or yellow with brownish markings inside. Fl. 7-8. Scree slopes, Pinus nigra and Cedrus forest, 1220-1525 m.
