Perennial, woody at base, densely white-tomentose, with numerous glandular hairs above. Stem terete, branched above. Basal leaves small, ± orbicular, 2,5-4 cm, crenulate, petiole 0,5-1,5 cm; cauline similar, upper orbicular to broadly ovate, acuminate, sessile. Inflorescence lax, branched, forming an ovate or pyramidal panicle. Bracts lanceolate to linear, 5-15 mm. Pedicels indistinct, with 2 linear bracteoles. Calyx 5-8 mm, with dense indumentum of stellate hairs and stalked glands, lobes lanceolate-linear, acute. Corolla yellow, c. 15 mm diam., without pellucid glands, stellate-tomentose outside. Stamens 5, anthers reniform, filaments with purple-violet wool, 2 anterior glabrous near apex. Capsule elliptic, 6 x 3 mm, stellate-tomentose. Fl. 6. Quercus scrub, dry river-beds, s.l.-390 m.
